Meghan married this past weekend at the Thomas Birkby House in Leesburg, VA. We created her a fabulous bouquet of ornamental grasses, green hydrangea, purple phlox, green cymbidium orchids, dahlias, scabiosa flowers, purple thistle, and allium flowers.

Maids carried bouquets of fiddle head fern, seeded euc, blue thistle, green cabbage roses, green mini hydrangea, and deep purple stock.

I would love to take credit for some of the great design elements at this wedding but Meghan and her amazing mom worked together to add some awesome details to the big day. They created the monograms in moss,  and also these awesome picture frames.

Don't you just love all of these super designs. I was in awe with the look of everything they created.

I love the guest book.

The family also set up this candy bar which was truly one of the cutest candy displays I have ever seen.

We created the floral arrangements in vases that the family actually made by gluing a round rose bowl onto a glass cup. This extra effort and work turned a regular run of the mill bowl into something sexy. The family also made all of the burlap runners.

The head table had these adorable signs.

We brought in burlap, angel vine, and our vintage boxes to sexy up the buffet.

The family also brought in potted herbs and plants to use as extra decor. We loved having those to play with.

Having a bridal family this creative to work with was a lot of fun, I love working with new design elements. I can promise you I will be making those moss covered picture frames in the future.  I can also promise you that I am glad that they made the moss covered monograms. I have made those before and it is a ton of work.

As usual the Thomas Birkby House just absolutely glowed and I am so happy to be a vendor at this fabulous venue.

Happy married life Meghan. We LOVED your wedding.!

These flowers are gorgeous and colorful! I can still remember when I got married last year in our home. It was just a simple wedding, but everything’s in it was perfect and unique. And the coolest thing about our wedding was that I didn’t actually walk down the isle. I walked down through our spiral stairs as my husband waited for me by the altar. Up to now, I still shudder in delight every time I think of that moment.

Our weekend started Friday night with this gorgeous fall toned wedding at Rust Manor House in Leesburg, VA.  Donna was the bride of the day, and her bouquet was a rich mix of white dahlias, brown cymbidium orchids, white cabbage roses, gypsy curiosa roses, seeded euc, and jester amaranthus. The only word for this bouquet was stunning. We also wrapped the bouquet with a collar of angel vine. Angel vine is a brown twig that I love to wrap into my designs.

Maids carried bouquets of white dahlias, white stock, white spray roses, white roses, and each bouquet was collared with seeded euc.

The wedding took place on the steps of the manor home.

Centerpieces were created in vintage wooden boxes and I totally loved the look. In fact we now have 15 of these in inventory.

Centerpieces featured copper football mums, white hydrangea, hypericum berry, white roses, gypsy curiosa roses, white stock and filler flowers.

The head table featured 2 elevated designs, lanterns, and smaller designs in the wooden boxes.

Next we headed to Erika's wedding at the Stables at Great Country Farms. Here I used an awesome mix of green and white blossoms with pops of hot pink and yellow. This look was fun, bright and happy.

Erika's bouquet featured green hydrangea, green roses, Don's white dahlias, green cymbidium orchids, hot pink globe amaranthus, pink smartweed, seeded euc, white freesia, and white stock. This was such a refreshing combination.

The maids were really loose and airy and loaded in great stuff like, green carnations, smartweed, the pink globe amaranthus, white stock, white phlox, seeded euc, green dianthus, and hot pink dahlias.

When I saw the family hanging the place cards on the barn wall, I just simply could not resist, I had to add a few extra flowers from my doctor bucket.

Centerpieces were an amazing mix of all the flowers of the day, plus we added pink zinnia's from my garden, hypericum berry , green amaranthus, and yellow tansy. We used all 3 sizes of mason jars and power packed the table with color and charm. Erica also rented these fabulous table runners from us and we now offer them as a rental.

We decorated the aisle with these sweet vases and twig poles.

We decorated the cake from Market Salamander with fresh flowers and I begged to have it placed on this wine barrel instead of the usual cake table.

We also used the leftover blossoms to sexy up a few naked areas.

With flowers and scissors in hand, I can decorate anything.

Bride Marci sent her soon to be groom out to the Chapple Flower house to pick up these fabulous centerpieces and bouquets. Marci found me while surfing the internet and she became convinced that the trip to my house for flowers, would be worth her one and half hour drive. She really loves our flowers.

You may notice the amazing dahlias are finally showing up in my designs. My local grower Don is finally harvesting from his crop of dahlias. The incredible heat and lack of rain has made this growing season a real challenge. With the change in climate the dahlias are able to produce. Thank you God, and thank you Don.

This amazing design was created for Lanah. Lanah worked here a short period of time last winter so helping to create these bouquets was awesome. We made this bridal, 8 maids bouquets and over 50 designs in silver trophy bowls. Lanah's wedding took place on her family horse farm in Maryland. For her bridal bouquet, I was so happy to use my clematis vine that had just come into bloom, we also used white cabbage roses, sahara roses, quicksand roses, tuber roses, white mini callas, lambs ear from my garden, white freesia, and seeded euc. This bridal bouquet was completely classic.

Each of the maids bouquets was unique and featured some of the bridal flowers.

In addition to the wedding orders we also provided birthday flowers for Tracy's moms, 75th birthday party. Tracy was my bride 3 years ago, and she had me recreate her bridal centerpieces again, for her moms big day. Now, that is totally cool! I also got to do birthday flowers for Felicity's big birthday. I worked with Felicity 23 years ago at an airline called Presidential airways. I was 20 years old when I last saw her. She found me on Facebook and I was thrilled to be able to provide her family with birthday flowers. Felicity was from Africa and she used to absolutely enthrall us with stories of her life in Africa.

All in all, I would say we had a pretty rocking weekend, for a small little weekend. The kids are all fine, Evan and I are managing to handle this house, this life, and this business. We certainly have our challenges, but we are dealing with them all. It was a great flower weekend at our place.

If you missed yesterdays post, back up, and get acclimated, because I am onto the reception decor. The amazing wedding of Mackenzie and Adam progressed to this fabulous tent area, that was designed next to the pool. The tent was constructed at the venue on Wens. My incredibly capable husband spent the better part of Wens. night at the venue wiring the tent with electricity. We as a team learned so much about just what it takes to make everything work for an event of this size. Lucky for me, Evan was once a master electrician and he has always handled all construction projects for our family. I knew he would be able to master this tent, and of course he did perfectly.

In this picture if you look very closely you can see our 4 year old Sam in the middle of the tent, Evan is also in the picture pulling wire. Not only did we manage this event, and provide all decor, Evan wired the tent for the D.J., the caterers, and the lighting company.  Evan was also hired to do the pin spotting by the family. The lighting company we were working with was booked solid for this holiday weekend. The best they could do was provide the lights on Thursday but we would need someone to actually set the pin spots on the floral designs the day of the wedding. Evan took on that task as well. I know, he is awesome!!

On Thursday we managed the arrival of the portable restrooms and Friday we helped the rental company with placement of chairs, china, linens, and furniture. We had ceremony chairs, reception chairs, tables, lounge furniture, plus all of the furniture I brought in from my booth at On A Whim Antiques. Oh, we also rented wine barrels from Fabbioli Wine in Lucketts.  We used the wine barrels to create an unique cake table and a candy bar. A friend of the brides family created tabletops for the barrels.

In addition to our flower order we at Holly Heider Chapple Flowers LTD. were paid a fee to style the event. This meant I could come up with some really clever and unique pieces to make this wedding special and also truly put my stamp on this event as a designer. Evan got literally roped into bringing my first vision to life. I decided that I wanted flower arrangements floating in the pool. The designs not only had to float but they also needed to provide candlelight when it became dark. Here is a great shot of Evan trying to anchor my pieces into place.

My daughter Hannah actually climbed into the pool to get this photograph. In fact Hannah took almost all of these photographs for me.

Evan's next mission was to hang a floral design from the center of the tent. We had a canopy of twinkly lights in the tent, and they swirled up to a center spot. On my last furniture run to On A Whim  I spotted this white wicker basket across the room and I had it in my hands in 3 seconds flat. I knew instantly upon seeing the basket, it would make the best center, centerpiece.

Evan also put up lights for the owner of the mansion and actually did an emergency plumbing job in the mansion house. Yes, we could say Evan was worth his weight in gold this past weekend and I am so grateful he was with me on this job.

My next really fun surprise for the bride and her family was super cute kettle popcorn stand. I used vintage crocks, kettles, and even our antique strainer to hold the popcorn. The large kettle had plain popcorn, we also had toffee, caramel, and peanut butter flavored popcorn. Paperzest made me cards for each flavor. The family had designed a candy bar and I thought this was a fun addition to this sweet area in the tent. The door and the table were from On A Whim Antiques.

It just so happens that my dad sells kettle corn at his farmers market called Heiders Country Store. I know my resources are ridiculous.

The candy bar was designed by the family. They used several of my containers and I came behind them with flowers and decor.

The reception tables, well they were just divine.

I used vintage crocks, antique scales, and wooden boxes that were made by my brides grandfather. Grandpa's wooden boxes were just amazing to design in, and I just kept thinking how proud he must have been to see his boxes at his granddaughters wedding.

I love the linens, love the chargers, love the glass, and china, and of course I love my flowers.

Every guest napkin had a treatment of rosemary and orange globe amaranth. We had 17 round guest tables and these surrounded a 20 person oblong head table.  We placed a purple dahlia in the napkins at the head table.

Over the winter, I found this rustic vintage scale. I knew the moment I saw it, it would be used on something very special, I could see its future and perhaps mine. The scale has an awesome bowl and I was dying to create an arrangement in the container.  When I did my first consult with Mackenzie and her mom we all became enthralled with using this scale as an inspiration for the look of the wedding. The scale became the center design on the head table and it was placed right in front of the bride and groom.

The head table also featured two elevated designs, lanterns, vintage bottles and the wooden boxes made by the grandfather. The head table was truly a masterpiece.

We decorated the buffet with old shutters and fabulous florals in either huge tins or wooden baskets. I even brought old crocks for my friends at Celebrations Catering to use. This gave the buffet a really fabulous look and I was really happy that I thought to provide those, until I had to take them home dirty. The horseradish sauce certainly smelled lovely, but cleaning the crocks was not so cool. Now about the food, and catering, I love Douglas and the staff of  Celebrations Catering. Many thanks to Douglas who put up with my crazy ideas and helped me to execute the look of this wedding flawlessly. Douglas and his team have always been so supportive of me, and my vision, and I am thankful that they were with me on this effort.

Thanks to my staff and family, a total of 19 people helped to make this weekend work. In addition to this wedding we provided flowers at The Belmont Country Club, Whitehall Manor, The Strathmore Music Center, and Raspberry Plains. My only regret is that I was not able to get to my other weddings, but I made every single bridal bouquet and approved every single design. In spite of a very busy weekend, I did not let anything leave our studio that could not proudly be called a Holly Chapple Design.  There are times that I think my standards are simply ridiculous, but in truth, I would not want any of my brides to receive anything less than the love, and attention, that goes into our work.

There were so many fabulous other things about this wedding that I am dying to share, like our killer farm table bar, our old vintage washstand that held the drinks at the bar, and our really cute lounge, but we will have to leave those pictures up to photographer Genevieve Leiper. I seemed to miss those shots.

Thanks for hanging with me on this post, I know it was a whopper, but it was a baby I was dying to share. We are event designers!! Many thanks to this remarkable family for having faith in me, and for allowing me to be a part of your big day. Happy married life Mackenzie and Adam, we loved doing your wedding flowers, and your event design!

Yesterday one of our photo shoots was featured on Style Me Pretty which you can see here. I will try and list all of the reasons why this was so special. First I got to work with an amazing team of vendors, and I really want to thank Pam of A Trendy Wedding for asking me to join the team. Developing relationships with everyone was so much fun. Second I was destined to do this shoot since birth, what other florist or designer just happens to have a daddy with a farm stand. I can’t tell you how much fun it was to steal all of my fathers produce or better yet try and explain to my country, farmer, dad, that I was doing a photo shoot and sending it to Style Me Pretty. Daddy does not hear very well and he kept saying I don’t know what in the _ _ _ _ you are talking about, but ” yes you can take my produce, my signs and whatever the _ _ _ _ else you want. My father is amazing, I totally ransacked Heiders Country Store right down to the honey. ( Take the time to go to his website, it is super cute and I love the about us page)  ” Next I got to bring my daughter Abby along, it was fun to find out what an amazing eye my girl has. My favorite photos of the day were ones she insisted we set up. Lastly I just love, love, love, photos shoots it is so much fun to bring a vision to life. Thank you Style Me Pretty for featuring our farmers market inspiration.  Oh whoops one last thrill, my gonna be daughter-in-law Mallary has become obsessed with Style Me Pretty. Ever since she got the ring she has been a follower of the SMP blog, it was extra fun for me knowing Mall would appreciate this feature.

I even hit up daddies garden for baby strawberries still on the vine so that I could put them in the grooms boutonniere.

Believe it or not, when I saw this ribbon in the store I completely knew in my heart I would use it for a country farm themed photo shoot. I pulled it off the rack committed to bringing this shoot to life, that was five weeks before Pam asked me to do the shoot. It is amazing to me how one element can absolutely inspire a designer to design.

Pam made heart shaped shortbread biscuits for the shoot. The funniest part of the night was when the horses and the groom, started snacking on the cakes, the strawberries, and the whipped cream.

The beautiful, fabulous, Kendall created our strawberry cake.

Shoots are often done for submission to magazines and wedding blogs. They also help vendors expand their portfolios. This shoot had an additional really fun layer, Terra Dawn lead person/photographer in charge of this shoot had spent the entire day instructing on photography skills. At the end of the class Terra brought up her students for the photo shoot. The photographers were literally squealing when they saw the stage we had set for them. I love the below images when the photographers arrived these pictures are mine so the quality changes significantly.

Here is a fun photo showing all of the little worker bees. Far left Lynn- The Black Horse Inn, Terra Dawn Photography, Pam Barefoot – ATrendy Wedding, Abby Chapple ( my daughter), Holly Chapple and  Joe who provided us with his vintage truck. Joe had the hardest job of all because he had to watch us touch his precious truck for like 5 hours.

Thanks to all of the vendors who helped to make this so special. I loved the couple and because their love was real the pictures were electric, they will marry this January.  Thanks over and over again to photographer Terra Dawn, and Lynn from the Black Horse Inn, your place is stunning and your horses are the sweetest.

Have a great day!!

I had the pleasure of providing the wedding flowers last weekend for Katie. Her wedding took place at the oh so beautiful Woodend Sanctuary. I loved this wedding, and I am dying to share it with you. I tried to wait until the amazing Kate Headley had a chance to get me the images, but when she sent me this one sneak peek photograph I knew I would share it immediately with you. This wedding was designed by event planner Ashley Summers from Table 6 Productions. Ashley is one of 6 chicks that plans events for Table 6 productions, this company handles several different major markets and they are totally fabulous to work with. In fact you can find our Jamie and Brad wedding here, which was an event we did this Spring together in West Virginia. Ashley covers, the DC,MD,VA, West Va, and CO markets, she is a superstar.

Now here are the images we captured, but remember they are mine and when Kate's get here everything will look so much more lovely.

Ok, I have to admit this picture is pretty amazing. Katie's bouquet was created with milky way roses, David Austin cabbage roses, white majolica spray roses, white freesia, white lizzy, white sweet peas, and white ranunculus. I never promise out of season blooms to brides, but I always ask my wholesalers for them just in case. If a particular bloom is found then I am able to surprise my bride. Katie loved ranunculus but I did not believe I would be able to give them to her in August. Lucky for us both we got ranunculus and I was so happy to include this Spring time flower in her bouquet.  We wrapped the bouquet in lace from her grandmother. I loved, loved, loved, the finished design.

We created four very lush and rich designs, these were used at the ceremony and then they became the elevated designs on the long head tables.

This photograph shows the table before the large altar pieces were added to the head tables.

All of the designs were created in my vintage milk glass vases and placed on these amazing linens. I can't get over how incredible these tables looked!

This picture of my bride seeing her reception for the first time says it all. I heard she shed tears of delight which was awesome, because I shed tears over her bouquet as I placed the lace on the bouquet. There was no doubt in my mind that Katie's wedding would be perfect.

You may have noticed I skipped " in the cooler" last night, we happen to have the weekend off. It is amazing to me how blessed and lucky we are, because my schedule seems to keep working out.  I never even had an inquiry for this date and of course it was meant to be, I have two kids getting ready for college and this is the last weekend we are all together.  Not to mention the fact that we are still reeling from last weekend, we had a wedding on Friday, 3 on Saturday and one on Monday of this week, so the wedding Gods, knew after five events last weekend and with the kids leaving for college I would need a little break. I think we are headed to the zoo.

Today is the day the mystery is solved. Many thanks to Anne Robert Photography for keeping my blog so pretty the last few weeks. Anne has a new updated website and a blog that will be released very soon… Follow this fabulous young lady and watch her fly.

Here is a little information that Anne sent over to me:

I've been trying to think of things about me to tell you but sigh… I'm not sure how exciting I am- bah!

I've been taking pictures forever and finally decided- well my hubby talked me into buying a SLR camera- I was a cheapo and couldn't decide whether to take the leap (we were poor students:) we did, it was AMAZING!!! Like a new hot shirt from anthro in my hand every single day!!! I couldn't get enough of it! I wanted to be SOOO good and take amazing pictures. I enrolled in photog classes (I majored in exercise science in University- on my way to the medical field) so i had to start the learning process all over. I quickly upgraded my camera, knowing that I wanted to take pictures forever and hoping professionally! I mentored with an AMAZING photographer Jill Thomas.  My classes got me started, but Jill really helped me learn how to build my business and how to take my photos to the next level. I owe her everything. She has since moved to California so if you're in the West check into her because she will blow your mind! After that business was great in portrait photography and I LOVE it, but after shooting one wedding I couldn't resist my desire to want to be a wedding photographer! My first (very small) wedding was with an older couple that had been with each other ten years- they were SOOO ridiculously giddy and even though they had told me they didn't want kissing pictures- they just couldn't stop! I couldn't stop smiling they were so in LOVE!!! I love capturing true emotion and what a better way than on the happiest day of someone’s' life. Since then I have started shooting weddings but I needed a way to get my work into the wedding world- a new blog and website, yes that would help but when I contacted Holly for a recent shoot— this is such gooshy talk- prepare yourself– I think I  met the BEST WOMAN EVER! She has been nothing but the sweetest, and most helpful person, every time I see her I want to give her a running hug (like the hugs my daughter gives me, running at full speed with a huge grin on her face) but I gotta keep it semi cool and professional so I lighten up on the hug:) A HUGE huge thanks to Holly for introducing me to the "wedding world".

A few things about my photography style- I love making friends with my clients- we meet for drinks, go over pictures they would like- meet to go over there pictures after engagements so we know what they LOVE for their special day! I edit every single picture myself- it's an art and I love to top off the art with my editing style. I love things stylish, vintage and natural, especially my colored pictures. I LOVE black and whites, foreign, and romantic. I love to capture real emotion.

Anne has also been working with the following wedding industry professionals.

Gustavo Mottola the makeup artist- has worked with Paris Hilton, Hayden Panettiere, Annette Bening, Warren Beatty, Melanie Griffith, Demi Moore, Julia Roberts, Angelica Huston, Harrison Ford, Alec Baldwin and many others.

Julie Jackson “Hair by Jewels” has styled for Paris Hilton, the Scorsese family, Krystal Koons, Kelly Roberts and more.

Jill Thomas- My mentor! She has been featured most recently in Martha Stuart 2010 issue, BRIDES regional, once wed blog, green weddings shoes blog and many others.

I hope you enjoyed meeting Anne, we wish her much success as she turns her focus towards the wedding industry. Make sure you take a peek at her website and look for her blog to be released very soon.

This past Saturday I provided the flowers for Melissa's wedding. No words can express how much I came to adore this bride. She has the most vivacious personality and just watching her interact with people kept me entertained throughout the wedding process. My first meeting with her was absolutely hysterical. She came to visit me with her awesome sister and the whole entire time they bantered back and forth like sisters do. Having four sisters and three daughters of my own, I totally got the sisterly love.  She constantly used sayings like I am such a "Hot Mess," and then she would bust out laughing.

Mostly what I appreciated and enjoyed about Melissa was her unbelievable trust in me and her willingness to allow me to create. Everything I showed Melissa she loved; that being said, we had a list of flowers to use a mile high and a color combination that I was not completely sure of.  Two weeks before her wedding I said to her  "You have absolutely no idea what your flowers are going to look like do you." She just laughed and said, "no but I trust you." I have to admit I had no idea how I was going to make it work either. There were four main components I knew we would be using: she loved blue thistle, yellow craspedia balls, crimson colored peonies, and flowers or foliages in green. Maids wore great little green J. Crew dresses.  She had one last request and that was for dahlias. Oh yes, she also loved succulents so those were added to the list as well.

We actually a had a mini-fight in the flower shop over the grooms bout. I wanted to make the boutonniere but designer Jessie beat me to it. The piece she created was so lovely I could not refuse her the glory. I also need to thank Jessie for gathering up her succulents from her garden. We used Jessie's patch of hens and chicks for the boutonnieres and for the bridal bouquet.

The bridal bouquet was just a delicious mix of color and texture. We used crimson peonies, yellow dahlias, yellow yarrow, blue viburnum berry, dusty miller, green dianthus, succulents, a heather I saw for the first time that also looked like a succulent, craspedia balls, pale yellow spray roses, yellow roses, hot pink celosia, blue thistle, and sea star fern.

What a stunner…

The famous sister who was a complete sweetheart.

I love this picture of our wreath and our maid. So pretty!!

We got to use my milk glass collection finally. We filled bud vases galore for this wedding. They were used throughout the house, and through the cocktail hour.

Isn't everything just perfect?

I absolutely love these lanterns Melissa found, they looked awesome hanging from the tent at The Thomas Birkby House.  Now I need to gush over the Birkby House; owners Ron and Judy and event manager Mary Louise. They are absolutely some of the most delightful people in the wedding industry. Not only is the property absolutely pristine, comfortable, and located right in historic downtown Leesburg, the venue comes with their very watchful and caring eye. I am always so impressed by their hands on approach and how they are really there for the brides. I love working with the Thomas Birkby House. It is truly one of Loudoun's very best event venues.

We created a very full and rich garland for the ceremony that we hung on the arbor.

Melissa was yet another bride to take advantage of my styling skills. She hired us to bring along several of our rental props. When a bride is paying me to finish the look of the wedding, we just start throwing extra props onto the truck…I brought these little grapevine balls to decorate the back of the aisle. We had clusters of flowers on the first few rows for family seating, these we brought just for extra decor.

This was also the weekend we got to use Evan's new place card easel and board. In fact, Melissa was the bride we created the board for. My daughter Abby actually suggested Evan for the job, and the result was amazing.

Melissa created her table numbers with this beautiful paper. We used extra pieces of this paper to design our place card board. First we wrapped the board in burlap and then we added her paper.

Next we added miniature garlands down the edge of the board to soften the design. This was my first time displaying place cards so the question was do we display them left to right or top to bottom in alphabetical order. Left to right won out, but in future I think I prefer top to bottom. The things I am learning this year…

Evan designed the easel so perfectly that it is mega sturdy. I can't imaging anything worse than the place cards falling over.

We brought this fabulous white iron basket for the programs. The last time I used this basket  we placed our newborn baby Grace inside for a photo shoot.

We brought all of our vintage white iron out for this wedding.  I suggested the "dine with us" sign for the buffet.

My white iron stands were used for the buffet pieces. We also provided smaller white iron stands for the dinning tables.

The low centerpieces were designed in my vintage milk glass containers.

All in all we used over 40 milk glass vases for this wedding. The whole wedding was drop dead gorgeous. I am so thrilled and honored that I was chosen to do the flowers for this wedding, and I am certain Melissa and I will be life-long friends. Happy married life Melissa. I loved you and your wedding.

I had the pleasure of  teaming up with some super fabulous vendors for a photo shoot. The shoot was really an Inspiration Challenge Contest that became known as ICcontest. Our shoot was featured this week on The Sweetest Occasion blog and here are some of our great photos. Thanks to all of the fabulous vendors who brought this awesome vision to life and a huge shout out to Vicky from My Simple Details. Vicky worked like crazy on this concept.

This awesome veil became my total inspiration  for the bouquet and boutonniere. I am thrilled with the results, but you should have seen us in the shop trying to dye feathers turquoise. Lets just say that we have not mastered the use of Rit Dye, in fact we failed epically and the feathers were spray painted teal.

Our couple truly were high school sweethearts, so it was fun to pick up that theme.

Vicki's attention to detail and her concept development was stellar.

I absolutely loved the idea of leaving a message for the bride and groom, and yes Vicky thought of that also.

Christina from Paperzest wowed us with her paper products. She is quite the artist.

A huge thanks to the very talented Kate Triano for her amazing photography. How could we possibly have so much fun without a fabulous photographer. In my mind the photographer is the most important vendor of the day. Don't tell the florists I said that.

Kristin and Jeff married this past Saturday at the Thomas Birkby House in Leesburg VA. Krisin's wedding is one I have been dying for, simply because every little detail was designed. The above image was taken by photographer Michelle Lindsay , and I am mighty excited about seeing the rest of her work. The rest of the photography was taken by me, but  I am definitely getting better, that or this wedding is simply so hot, it made even my photography look good.

The bridal bouquet was created with orange and more orange. We used callas, ranunculus, tulips, two shades of roses, orange gloriosa lily ( this was the first time I have had them in orange) , pin cushions, and freesia. The bouquet was bound in bark wire and we finished the design with a broach from each grandmother. I LOVED this bouquet.

Maids carried bouquets of green spiders, green cabbage roses, green euphorbia, green dianthus, and green button mums. We added orange snapdragons, orange roses and orange ranunculus to make them hot.

When I met Kristin It became clear that she wanted more than just wedding flowers, she wanted theme enhancement and development. We absolutely love styling an event and because of our work with Krsitin and our many photo shoots, we are ready to offer  the "Finishing Touches Package".  If you are having trouble bringing everything together or finding those last little details that will make your wedding memorable, let us help. We have an endless supply of props and resources, and the wonderful On A Whim Antiques store. Here are some of the fun things we did to make this wedding special.

This fun station was created for guests so that they could leave a note for the bride and groom. Post cards and stamps were on hand. The post cards were designed by Kristin's sister Jennifer (superstar). Guests traveled from near and far for this wedding. One of the bridesmaids was from France and she did a reading in French, so the wedding had a underlying theme of travel.

We at Holly Heider Chapple Flowers LTD brought the camera, world globe, vintage suitcase, and of course the flowers, and we set up the display.

We also brought these fun little world maps.

These antique globes were bought at an auction with Kristin in mind. We used  our props to decorate small cocktail tables inside the mansion. Here are some of our sexy boutonnieres all lined up and ready.

We decorated the aisle with my antique blue mason jars. We used over 50 blue jars on this wedding. Yes, I have a major stash of these antique jars.

Kristin bought these awesome lanterns and had them installed in the tent.

The lanterns totally matched and enhanced the theme of the paper products designed by Kristin's sister.

Are you drooling yet?

We brought in burlap, maps, lanterns, baskets, suitcases, and flowers to decorate the buffet. Without our props and decor the buffet would have been completely functional but totally not designed.

Our centerpieces were designed in my antique blue mason jars, but to make them unique and larger we tied 3 jars together with twine. The taupe tone of twine and burlap was yet another design element in this wedding

Every place setting had a bright green spider mum. Total eye candy !!

Whoops, I forgot to show you the place card board. This was designed by Kristin.

One of my favorite designs of the night was this awesome piece. Kristin had decoupaged her monogram but had no way to display them, so I created this super cool arrangement.

We brought a few extra suitcases just in case and I love how they looked at the bride and groom table.

This wedding just absolutely made my heart sing, I want to be involved from beginning to end so I hope you will consider having us style your wedding or provide those "finishing touches".

Happy married life Kristin and Jeff, I loved being a part of your amazing day.

This is my bride Libby and her groom Josh. They married this past weekend at the Stables of Bluemont Vineyard.  Photographer Madalina Lesan was there to capture the day. After seeing these engagement photos I can hardly wait to see the wedding through Madalina's eyes.

For now I will share the photographs I snapped throughout the day.

Libby wanted a very simple look and  feel. Her bouquet was created of only baby's breath. It was the easiers bouquet I have ever made and yet it was every bit as lovely.  I was totally impressed with Libby's vision, everything was simply perfect for this wedding.

Each maid carried a bouquet that featured one specific blossom, the maid of honor carried a bouquet that was a mix of all the girls flowers.

This maid had the tulip bouquet, each bouquet had lambs ear and seeded euc. as well.

Josh had a boutonniere of only baby's breath and twine. The effect was awesome, this was an all time favorite bout.

20 bouts in all were created for this wedding.

We used raffia on the wrist corsages. I thought the twine might be a little itchy against the ladies wrists.

I created this sweet little ball of baby's breath for the flower girl. This was tied with twine as well. I am sorry I missed seeing the flower girl with her kissing ball.

Libby purchased small succulents from  Etsy. She Potted each plant  in these little vases and used them for the place card table.

We created centerpieces that consisted of a mason jar in the center and then a cluster of 3 to 5 smaller vases surrounding the main design. Libby found the small vases at craft stores. I used a mix of all white flowers throughout the day. No, two tables were the same. We used queen annes lace, white hydrangea, peonies, star of beth, hyacinthus, fever few, stock, tulips, spray roses, daisies, and mini white carnations.

Libby and her dad made all of the table runners and the table numbers. I got to help with the ideas and they did the cutting and stamping.

I can't wait to see the real pictures from this wedding.I suspect these will be show stoppers.

Happy Married life Libby and Josh, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your wedding.
