Last Thanksgiving I had the pleasure of designing the most lovely of pink weddings. Lara and Steve married in Leesburg and their reception was in Middleburg, this was a gorgeous Loudoun wedding. This wedding was also featured on the Washingtonian Weddings Blog and you will want to check out the feature to see additional photos and inspiration.

The bridal bouquet was created with several types of hot pink cabbage roses, medium pink roses and then an antique pink rose. Silver dusty miller and silver brunia were added into the bouquet. We added a rosary from the family to the bouquet.

It’s been really hard to keep these images a secret for almost a year but giving them to you today is so much fun. Many thanks to the incredible Kate Headley who photographed the wedding and to Jamie and Lisa who were the event designers and planners. I loved working on this wedding, and finally I can say… happy married life to Steve and Lara!!!!

It’s Monday morning and things are off to their typical start. I have a bride due here in 20 minutes, a preschool drop in 50 minutes, we are out of dishwasher soap, laundry detergent, trash bags, and milk. We also have a rather large order of flowers to fill. We will be headed to DC tomorrow with 48 centerpieces and at this moment not a one has been created.  So in other words it’s just another crazy day here at the Chapple-home-flower shop.

We did five weddings last weekend and each one of them was truly beautiful. Here are the only images I was able to capture from last weekend.

I love these pictures of the maids helping Sami with her veil.

The couple married under this fabulous floral arch. This structure has become highly sought after and it’s a major ordeal to build, but you gotta admit it’s amazing.

The couple married at the Stables At FoggyBottom, also known as the Bluemont Vineyard. Catering was done by Celebrations Catering. We at Holly Heider Chapple Flowers handled all of the decor aspects of this event. My fabulous husband Evan hung over 200 yards of fabric in the rafters of the barn and he even sewed the curtains that framed the head table as well as install the chandeliers. White twinkle lights were also hung all through the rafters of the barn and Evan also provided up-lighting along the walls.

Sami’s reactions throughout the day were so gratifying. It was obviously clear she that she was thrilled with our work and our designs.

The barn was truly magical at night and I am so proud of the work we did for this event. My only regret is that my pictures are very lacking. There is another full section of this barn and the panels of fabric and the lights swoop down and cover that ceiling section as well. I wish I had pictures to show you how magnificent this was.

I can’t wait to see the professional images from this event. I am so proud of this wedding and the look we  created for this bride and her mother. Evans help with our events is clearly making a huge impact on the overall look and feel of our designs. This was clearly a success!!

  • Christie Says: (09.26.2011 | 02:03)

The pops of blue are amazing and I am in love with those twinkle lights!

  • Karen Van Lare Says: (09.26.2011 | 02:37)

I LOVE your blog. I start every morning and end every evening checking to see what you’ve created or have featured each day. Monday mornings are especially fun, seeing your weekend wedding designs. Adding Evan officially to your already fabulous design team was brilliant!

  • john Says: (09.26.2011 | 10:09)

This event was amazing. It was my first time seeing Holly’s creations in person, and I must say she did not disappoint. Beautiful.

  • Carol Cannon Says: (09.27.2011 | 04:25)

Sami’s wedding was fabulous! The barn made me gasp when I took a peek before anyone else came in. You all do really creative work and I couldn’t have been more impressed.
(I met Sami and Marty when Sami was about 13 and they moved in across the street from me.)

  • Herly Says: (09.27.2011 | 03:58)

Marty, I could only imagine how happy you are with one of Sami’s important milestone in life. I’m sure more are coming. Best wishes to her.
    Thanks for sharing.

  • KAREN GRIMM Says: (09.29.2011 | 01:37)

You did an amazing job. All of the flowers were spectacular. I found myselg going around the room, just capturing photo’s of the flowers! I would highly recommend you!

Several weeks ago we worked on the very beautiful wedding of Camilla & Richard. The couple married in a church in Great Falls and their reception was held at the Halcyon House. This wedding had a very romantic and soft feel and it was one that I was dying to create.

I used cream sarah cabbage roses, pink sarah cabbage roses, candy bianca roses, sahara roses, and pale pink spray roses to create this bouquet a touch of dusty miller was added to give us a pop of grey.

Photographer Peter Bang caught this wonderful image as I gave Camilla her bouquet.  I will always cherish this image. Camilla’s delight that day was so rewarding as a designer. Many thanks to Peter Bang for sharing all of these wonderful photographs, and also to Megan Beth, who shot a lot of the detail photos of my flowers.

The front doors of The Halcyon House were decorated with the days flowers.

Mounds of baby’s breath were designed to hold the place cards. We also twisted up all of those pretty little silver wires to hold the cards. Working with baby’s breath is quite the experience, due to its dainty and wispy nature you must insert hundreds of extra stems to make a significant design. Its more than a little tedious however we were on a baby’s breath roll for this wedding. Baby’s breath will always be considered chic, and sexy in my mind after designing for Camilla. The head table also featured a mass of baby’s breath. We created a 20 foot long runner of baby’s breath. The flowers and candlelight were inserted into the babys breath runner. This design was truly spectacular. Many thanks to event planner Teresa Lee of Rex & Regina for coming up with this idea and for styling and planning such a beautiful event.

Guest tables featured gatherings of the cabbage roses and dusty miller. The linens alone on this wedding were drool worthy.

As you can imagine this was absolutely beautiful to see in person and guests must have been so pleased to be in attendance. I know I personally was blown away with the beauty around me.

Happy married life Camilla and Richard, your wedding was magical!!!

Several months ago I participated in this photo shoot, designed by Megan and Laura from Events In The City. I adore working with these girls so this was a lot of fun. The shoot was called Our Maidens Voyage. I call it the Titanic shoot. What I loved about this shoot was the fashion and the photography. Many thanks to Laura Ashbrook Photography for capturing the Titanic shoot, and Carines Bridal Atelier for providing the fashion. My Holly Heider Chapple bouquet was also pretty darn rocking as well. The bouquet was added this week to the featured bouquet gallery at Grace Ormonde. We are mighty proud of that.

The bouquet was created with plum ranunculus, viburnum berry, white anemone, plum tulips, white majolica spray roses, and a fabulous rose called silver finesse. I bought the silver finesse roses at the NYC flower market the day before the shoot and I brought them home with me on the bus, now that’s devotion. That fabulous little brooch was also found on my buying trip in NYC.

Love these images!!

Accessories are so important on a wedding day!!

Gorgeous!!

The shoot took place at Trummers On Main, and they provided all of the catering for this session.

You have to love these dresses from Carines.

Vintage gold candlesticks were gathered from my friends at On A Whim Antiques. They were perfect for this shoot.

Yes, give me the key, this is definitely a world I would want to enter.

whooooa, this is a seriously awesome shoot. I love the way she’s tilting her head in the image with the caterer. Very princess-y.

Adore! The color palette is just impeccable:)

Here is a wedding that is all about the drama plus lots of red and gold. The above red wedding bouquet was created with deep purple calla lily, red roses, black bacarra roses, red coxcomb, purple foliage’s, and cascading wired james story orchids. This bouquet was certainly unique and very artfully designed. The same gold wire that was used to cascade the orchids was also woven through the bouquet.

On this wedding we used the flowers for the centerpieces to create an altar for the couple. After the wedding the flowers were transitioned to long king sized tables.

This gave the couple stunning flowers for the ceremony as well as for the reception.

This was an absolutely beautiful and stunning wedding. Event planning and design by Lisa Schulz, The Posh Planner, photography by Genevieve Leiper, and flowers by me Holly Heider Chapple Flowers. Event location the Hotel Palomar DC.

Several weeks ago I had the pleasure of doing a photo shoot with Wedding Wire. We staged the shoot right here in our yard. Wedding Wire is the go to spot for brides or families planning a wedding.

Make sure you stop by the WeddingWire blog today for a fabulous giveaway. I would love to see one of our readers be the winner.

This shoot was beyond fun, and since it was happening here I could easily grab additional props and antiques from my magic prop shed. My husband Evan, the newest team member at HCF says the shed is magic because I can shove so much stuff in the shed, he actually said crap, but that hurt. Evan does not yet appreciate or understand the power of my little lovelies.

All of the furniture used on this shoot was purchased at On A Whim Antiques. It’s one of my most favorite resources.

I found these modern white vases in NYC and I was so excited to use them for the first time. I loved the way this table design came together. The linens from Party Rentals were outrageously fun, bright, and perfect for this look!!

Many thanks to all of the vendors that helped to make this shoot so pretty, especially Jeffra and Crystal they were so awesome to work with!!!!

Several months ago I gathered up my petals and headed to Middleburg, Virginia. That day a fabulous team of designers, wedding vendors, and models gathered to create two very inspirational shoots. The vendors are as follows Creative Design + Planning: Kelley Cannon Events / Photography: Anne Robert Photography / Florist: Holly Chapple Flowers / Hair Styling: Hair By Jewels / Make-Up: Amie Decker Beauty / Invitation + Stationery Suite: Meant to Be Calligraphy / Bridal Gown: Pearl’s Place Bridal Salon / Clothing + Jewelry: Bloomingdales
The particular shoot got dubbed the colorful photo shoot and it was featured this past Friday on Style Me Pretty.

Here are the spunky, bright, and yes, colorful images photographed by my dear friend Anne Robert.

Yes, hair stylist Hair By Jewels  used my bouquet ribbon in the brides hair. Super great idea!!

Yellow finesse roses, green cymbidium orchids, yellow billy balls, hot pink peony, blue aggies, orange gerbers and orange ranunculus were used to create this colorful bridal bouquet!!

The grooms bout was perfectly bright as well. We used a mini green cymbidium, blue aggies, and a yellow billy ball for his design.

Our table was beyond gorgeous!!! I love to do photo shoots, the process pushes me as a designer to create new and clever floral decor. I absolutely flipped for this centerpiece creation I came up with. My flowers were designed in open picture frames. LOVED THIS!!!!!!!!

This design is truly fun and unique!!!

Every detail was so perfectly thought out. I have the most clever friends!!

Have a bright, happy, and colorful day!!!

The wedding of Cassey and Danny was featured yesterday on the fabulous Snippet & Ink Blog, check it out here. Having our work and this wonderful wedding featured was such an honor.  Most importantly now we can show you the images from this amazing wedding. Many thanks to photographer Abby Jiu who did an amazing job capturing this event.

The day started with the ladies and puppy Clyde getting ready for the day. All of the hugs, kisses, and busy wedding day activity simply wore Clyde out.

Cassey carried a bouquet of white cabbage roses, ornamental grasses, queen annes lace, Japanese spray roses, succulents, balsa wood flowers, sahara roses, nandina foliages, gooseneck loosestrife, white yarrow, scabiosa pods, white peony, and nigella pods. I loved this bouquet and I was so pleased with the results. This bouquet was packed with goodness.

Maids bouquets were designed with many of the same blooms but we also added clusters and gatherings of burlap into the bouquets.

Lovely!!

Details, details, and more details, made this wedding so special. Bride Cassey was loaded with fabulous ideas and it was such a pleasure to help with this event.

Many thanks to all the vendors that made this day special.

I received the sweetest request from mother of the bride Mrs. H. several weeks ago. Her daughter bride Laura, chose to have a simple wedding inLeesburg at our historic courthouse. In spite of the fact that the wedding was to be simple and small Luara’s mom wanted her daughter to have flowers on her wedding day. Sensing that this was very important to this mom and loving all of her correspondences with me, I agreed to design the flowers for this event in spite of the fact that we were booked solid for her date. Even though the planning for this wedding was completely done via email,  I still feel so honored I got to play a part in making this day special. As with all things in my world I am constantly rewarded for finding the time to help. I got to become a part of a wedding that was simply beautiful and I was sent these incredible images from a wedding that flat out looks like a photo shoot. I also was introduced to the amazing photographer LaurynGalloway, and now I have a new photographer friend. You all know how much I love getting images of my work and of my brides!!! I am in love with these pictures and all I can say is wow!!! So happy wedding and happy married life Laura and Jason, and thank you for letting me be a part of your wedding.  Laura you certainly are a pretty bride and the courthouse of downtown Leesburg has never looked better.

I used mini green hydrangea, green dianthus, green button mums, zinnia’s from my garden, donsdahlias, blue thistle, blue delphinium, blue salvia, and purple stock in the bouquet. These pictures show my devotion to a bouquet no matter how big an event, we rock out every single piece we create.

Blue thistle, green hypericum berry, blue delphinium and seeded euc were used for the grooms bout.

I adore this bouquet that Laura’s twin sister carried, it’s ridiculously perfect with this incredible dress.

After the ceremony on the court house steps, the couple headed across the street to dine with their family and close friends at Leesburg’s famous restaurant Lightfoot.

Even though this wedding was small, it certainly had the best of everything!!!

We also provided centerpieces for the dinning tables with a mix of the days blooms.  HollyHeiderChappleFlowers added to Lighfoots incredible food,  could only mean an amazing event. This wedding looks incredibly perfect and I am so glad I was able to fit this special family into our schedule.

Many thanks to photographer LaurynGalloway for sending me so many lovely images of this special day. Make sure you check out Lauryn’s new website and blog, it’s a fun place of inspiration and beauty.
