Time to run for the roses and go to Erin’s wedding. My Kentucky Derby Wedding. Apparently the Derby has always been a huge social event for my bride and her family. They love the Derby so much that they planned a Derby themed wedding on Derby day.
Hands down one of the hardest color combinations ever. We were trying for tones of crimson and we did it, this was so unbelievably sexy. I am so proud of the look here, we combined deep reds and deep pinks to design this wedding.
Erin had a bridal bouquet of all red Peonies. We had four shipments of Peonies before we got the right shade. Of course the bride does not yet know how hard we searched for her perfect color.
Her bouquet was simply one of a kind.
The maids had a combination of red Roses, red Ranunculus, deep pink Roses, spray Roses in both tones and they were collared with Gardenia foliage.
The altar flowers were created with crimson colored Lily, Roses, Peonies and Azalea from my gardens.
Mint Julep Cups of course.
Half of the tables had one large Julep cup and half of the tables had 3 cups. In the tables with 3 cups we used one cup of red Roses, one of the red Peonies and one of the Ranunculus and we clustered them together. This was majorly striking.
We used Cherry blossoms to greet the guests as they arrived.
The whole look of this wedding was incredibly rich. The reception was held at the wonderful Rivercreek Country Club.
Happening just across town at the Thomas Birkby House was the wedding of my bride Christina. Her wedding was all about pink and soft creams, everything had a very romantic feel. Here is my bride just as she was arriving. Notice we provided white Orchids for her hair. Christina carried a bouquet of green Hydrangea, white Freesia, white Phlox, white Roses, pale pink Roses, and slightly darker pink Roses called Sophie, and she also had green Hypericum Berry. The one real stand out for me on this wedding was how happy and involved Christina’s dad was . Christina is clearly loved and adored by those around her. I never got to meet her groom but he is one really lucky guy.
Her centerpieces were truly divine and everything just sparkled in the reception area.
I loved working with Christina, we did a ton of the planning via email. Christina lives in New York so we had to be creative. Her family was wonderful and I am so glad I could give her exactly what she was dreaming of. Christina saw my flowers last year at a friends wedding and that is how we grow our business. We do a beautiful job everywhere, every time.
While team one and two set up the Derby wedding and the Romantic pink wedding, team three was setting up Jennifer’s wedding and yes I made it to all three weddings. I love all of my brides and want very much to be at each event.
Jennifer went bold and fun with orange, fuchsia and bright green. Here we can see Jennifer with her glorious bouquet. Look at the hot pink wire and beads on the stems of her bouquet. This is new inventory and we had so much fun using this. Jennifer’s bouquet was created of hot pink peonies, green Cymbidium Orchids, orange Callas, Roses, green Viburnum and lots of love.
Jennifer married in the gardens and we designed one magnificent arrangement for the backdrop of the ceremony.
We placed petals down the aisle and marked family reserved seating with bows and mini bouquets.
We created centerpieces of both high and low with the same vibrant colors of the day.
The cake was also adorned with fresh flowers. Check out this perfection in confection.
Yeah!!!!!!!!!!! We did it, awesome, incredible, stupendous, a real slam dunk and we rock.
Now its time for the movie ET with the kids, a little nap and clean up of the events very late tonight.
