The next treat in store for all of the attendees at Wedding 360 was a design showcase. For me this was a huge offering, I wanted to step into the creations of other designers. I wanted to see, touch, and feel all of the elements that they love to use. Four different designers created four very different rooms. The first room was done by Grant Rector of Grant and Company.
This was the largest display of tulips I have ever seen, with an enormous offering of cherry blossoms. The design was so large my camera could not catch it all.
The table was absolutely stunning, with huge bowls of phalaenopsis orchids. The room also showcased gardenias, the smell and softness in this space was so lovely. Every place setting had a gardenia blossom and gardenias were floating in bowls throughout the room.
The room also offered a cozy space to sit and relax.
The next space was designed by Tara Guerard of Soiree Events. Her room was a complete and total miracle, Tara is based in Charleston, South Carolina and her furnishings did not get to San Francisco in time for her display, being incredibly clever and resourceful she pulled off this remarkable room. Tara also now has a satellite office in NYC, and she is the author of several wedding books. Tara also owns the couture imprinted paper store The Lettered Olive. This was her space…
These chandeliers were hanging throughout the room. The little leaves were also used on each place setting.
Both the tables in this space were custom made and some of the few elements that got to the event on time. The table top was made to look like snake skin on both the cake table and the seating table.
This shot was taken with the hotel lighting, but I wanted you to see the edge of the table. It was awesome.
Antlers hanging in the room actually held the place cards.
Not only is Tara remarkably talented in event decor, she may be the most hysterical speaker I have ever seen. Her Southern charm completely contradicts her vivacious personality. This woman was totally a pistol and not at all the quiet wall flower I would have expected from a Southern Lady. If you can hear her speak you better get there, in particularly if you are an event planner. Her advice and information was priceless.
The next room was created by Jonathan and Linnae of Asiel Design and this was probably the sexiest space I have ever walked into. Since they are a totally hot couple, it is no surprise that their room was smoking. I almost fainted in this space.
The couple created designs that were simply art. The space was surrounded in white with white carpeting. Manzanita branches were painted silver and they were anchored to wooden bases. Silver beads hung from the trees. Chrome vases held succulents throughout the space. In fact only succulents were used in this room except for a few tulips that were visible in the bouquet. Linnae handles the floral decor, Jonathan handles most of the props but they work together for the overall concept and design.
Two large mirrors hung above a beautiful white mantel that they displayed in the room. The details were endless.
These glass vases hung from a draped space and were the seating cards. So beautiful!
The most interesting structure in the room was a large sculpture that was hung over the table. The piece was created with a silver interlocking toy system. From this huge sculpture hung more of the glass bubbles with succulents inside the vases.
The centerpiece was a mass of succulents, the table was lucite and more succulents could be seen inside the table. I told you, this room was sexy, sexy, sexy.
In this picture you are looking through a Manzanita structure onto the table and you can almost see the chrome colored sculpture hanging over the table.
Next favorite detail look at the plates and the cake. Killer!!!
Linnae's bouquet was absolutely to die for, what I loved most about this piece was the scrap metal they used in the bouquet. She explained to me that they actually buy metal shavings and use them for design. They also pinned on a old watch that showed the gears of the timepiece.
Next designer was Nancy Liu Chin her space was so divine. The detail in her room was every bit as intricate but the focus was on the flowers. Being a flower addict this room was the jackpot for me.
Phalaenopsis, ranunculus, dendrobium orchids, tulips, and cattleya orchids were displayed in total abundance. See why I love her.
The exterior of the room had these lovely hanging bubbles over the place cards.
Have you ever seen a cake more stunning than this?
The lighting was a huge part of this room, it gave the space the glow Nancy wanted to achieve. I did happen to sneak back in the room to grab a few more shots. The lighting had changed and so did my pictures, I thought it was interesting to see the softness and glow lighting provides.
Here is one of my favorite pictures from the weekend it is of the fabulous Nancy Liu Chin. Nancy also has a really great blog called Nancy' brown bag, it is a wonderful wedding and floral read.
Clearly Jean and Jubilee thought of everything, and to top off this section of the conference, they put all the designers up on a panel and let them tell about their designs. We were able to ask questions and find out just how each one of these talented artists came up with the concept they chose.
This picture is of Grant, Tara, Jonathan and Linnea.
Here is another photograph of the panel this is Nancy, Grant and Tara.
Believe it or not, I still have more to report on about Wedding 360. Next up is the Flower Summit with the incredible Sean Low who was the President of Preston Bailey Design, Inc. It is hard to believe this trip could get any better but our time at the flower summit with Sean was life changing. This, I am saving for Monday. I have consultations today and tomorrow and hundreds of emails and phone calls to return, not to mention lots of little people who need some mommy time.
Gorgeous! Thank you for sharing, Holly! I appreciate you taking the time to share these images. I am inspired!
