You may have noticed that I have not been blogging as regularly. I am trying seriously to get back into my daily commitment but there is a lot going on around here. We are in serious production mode. Every day we are making something, confirming orders, preparing for an event, or agonizing over each flower and if we will be able to obtain them. I spend countless hours each week begging for my product. Denied here, sub there. All day long I run from country to country, wholesaler to wholesaler, ensuring that I have all of the blooms I need. There is not a “one stop shop” for me. In addition to all of this our family is less than 3 weeks out from our very own wedding. I have a lot of designing to do over the next few weeks.
I also just pulled the trigger on the Chapel Designers Conference NYC 2013. You will see on the sidebar of this blog the opportunity to secure your place at our flower designer conference. The exact schedule and guest speakers is still being established. However I have confirmed our hotel group rate and that we will be spending one entire day with my good friend David Beahm. David has graciously allowed us to invade his production warehouses in the Bronx. This will give us an opportunity to work on large scale designs and to see elaborate design elements. More coming about this trip soon!!!
In addition to this I am headed to Atlanta to teach a design class on personal flowers for weddings. I will be teaching at Laura Iarocci’s school called Faith Flowers. My class will be on Nov. 6th and the link to my session can be found here. Laura is the designer that planned the European flower tour I went to this year. Laura is the person that exposed me to Belgium and Holland.
Hold your seats, because its gonna be like a Holly whirl wind around here!!!!!
I have admired your work and blog since Carol and Peggy the creative force behind the always amazing and stunning Celebration Florals shared their story from their trip with the Chapel Designers to NYC. I have been a wedding and event coordinator located in Corvallis, OR for 5 years and have been a huge fan of Peggy and Carol’s work. I always suggest that my brides hire Celebration Florals. I recently relocated to Athens, GA as my husband took a faculty position at UGA. Peggy sent me a text this afternoon to tell me about the class you are teaching in Atlanta – I am tempted to register even though I have a limited floral background! Thank you for sharing your beautiful creations, I enjoy reading your blog on a weekly basis.
Oh please do come to the class, I would love to meet you!!! I promise I am totally about making this fun!!
