As I mentioned in my last post the Flower School Of NY was incredible. This picture shows our class in front of the beautiful school with founder Eileen Johnson. Eileen is the lovely lady in the middle of the picture with the red and black dress. In addition to starting the flower school Eileen is also an accomplished author and is currently working on her third book. She also wrote “The Art of Floral Arranging” and “Entertaining in the French Style.” We were so thankful to have this experience and so grateful that Eileen started this school.
There are 12 work stations in the school and each student is given an apron to wear and tools to use. The aprons are available for purchase and I of course bought one, and I have been wearing my apron all over Virginia.
Ariella Chezar taught the compote class as well as our morning bouquet class and we were thrilled with the opportunity to try another Ariella type of design. We began with a beautiful black compote vase.
My compote design. Thanks to Aguilar Lam for photographing our compote class. Aguilar is Janice’s husband.
The amazing Trish Van De Merkt of Grapevine Floral.
Clearly we had the most remarkable time at the Flower School of NY. Many thanks also to Cal Crary for helping us to arrange these classes. The Chapel Designers were in four different classes at the school. What a pleasure!!!
What an amazing school. I was blown away by the website!!! I can’t wait to finish my undergrad so I can start learning too 🙂

The designers are the Chapel Designers which was created by the amazingly talented Holly Chapple. We had the best time learning and designing at New York Flower School where we studied the Art of the Compote by Ariella Chezar. […]
