Since I’m not working, I am living a little. I know I said I wasn’t going to post through Christmas, but this is not work, this is joy!! As many of you know I work from home, so I literally spend almost every day in this house. I’m home a lot. I pretty much only go to weddings and preschool drops. Since preschool is generally a happy place and weddings are also a wonderful happy place, my life is really good and I am constantly exposed to happy.
I am a very social person, but I don’t get to go out often. I rarely take the time to go to the movies or to simply shop because I am seriously always working or home with the kids. When I’m out I love to watch people, I love to be amongst people. Today I was out in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the Christmas rush. It was surprising to me how many people forget to smile!! To just be happy. What about holding the door open for someone, or why not help an older person with their purchases. I literally cried in the walmart today as I watched an old man try to shop while driving one of the electronic carts, he looked so kind and gentle, because he was smiling. Another elderly lady was trying to get something off of a shelf. She was beautiful in a suit, with her hair all done up, she even had jingle bells in her hair. She was wearing a smile and I could tell she was from the old school. The land and the life where you acknowledge those that are passing by. Where you smile and you say Merry Christmas. My life is truly rich and blessed and I think it’s because I remember to smile!! My Christmas wish for you today is that you smile, that you are patient, loving, thoughtful, helpful and that you walk with Grace!! SMILE.
The above picture seriously makes me smile. Several years ago these gentlemen came to our studio to pick up Pham’s wedding flowers. Being a blogger I didnt want to let the flowers leave without getting a photo. When the guys agreed to run outside and hold the bouquets we were all laughing hysterically. They were so cool and so much fun and all these years later the picture still makes me smile!
Happy Holidays! 🙂 I loved reading this post, we work too much as well and getting to spend time with family around the holidays is the best!
you are the BEST!!! and make me smile all the time. love you! 🙂
So beautiful. Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas Holly! Thanks for the reminder to show them those pearly whites of mine.
this post made me smile when it popped up in google reader 🙂 not only because the flowers remind me of my wedding, but because those are some of the best guys around and it doesn’t surprise me at all that they would pose for a picture!
