On Thanksgiving morning I arrived at mothers house, with pie, cookies, homemade cranberry jelly, grandma Heider’s blue cheese ball, and a pumpkin cake. I didn’t make a floral centerpiece because quite honestly I just figured nobody cared like I do about flowers. The first thing mother said was, “where is my Thanksgiving centerpiece?” Back to my house I went, completely unsure of what I could throw together. Thankfully I had tuber roses, and amaretto roses from last weekend and I knew I would begin there. I also knew I could gather some nandina foliage, and my hydrangea leaves are an amazing burgundy right now. As I started the design I remembered the apples from one of our Oct 15th weddings the leftover fruit has been in a sealed container in the cooler ever since. We also had rose hips, privet berry, odd pieces of ornamental grasses and 4 stems of orange spray roses. One last miracle leftover in the studio was raununculus. I mistakenly received red not orange ranunculus last weekend, and white not light pink ranunculus, so we had ranunculus everywhere. This piece is luscious!!!
I can’t get over how pretty this design is and every single flower is at least 8 days old. Thank goodness for the cooler!!
Hope you had a happy turkey day and I hope you are enjoying this time with your family!! We are off to grandmas house for a big breakfast!!
I love the apples and the berries mixed in there. So gorgeous for a last minute centerpiece!
Gorgeous!!! Love love love it!!!!!!
I am just completely in awe of what you are able to produce…on the fly no less! I can envision flying back home, creating in your mind while driving, and then pulling all of these lovely bits and pieces into the gorgeous result! Your talent is awesome…a true gift from God!
Only Holly could produce something so beautiful from the “leftovers” in the cooler and in her yard. I especially love the addition of the hydrangea leaves and the apples!!
So stunning Holly! I love this design!
This is SO BEAUTIFUL!
