Providing the flowers for Marie and Victor just a few weekends ago was a true highlight of the season. Groom Victor is the twin brother to my friend and event designer Vicki Grafton of my Simple Details, I love the Sunset Room at the National Harbor, I loved the bride and her mom, and I was thrilled to be working with photographer Abby Jiu. This wedding was awesome!!!!
The wedding day started like this… I was working at my computer when I noticed out the window that the most amazing pink tree peonies had bloomed overnight. I was about to design a beautiful calla lily bouquet for bride Maria but I just could not resist bringing her the peonies as well. So yes I brought Maria not one, but two bridal bouquets. Brides remember this, when you have an excellent photographer hired for the day, your vendors often delight in doing extra…. I knew I would get rocking pictures of both bouquets and I knew it would be fun. The above picture is Marie receiving her second bridal bouquet.
Maria’s real bouquet was created with Picasso calla lily, lily grass, and great grandmothers cameo. I also personally cut MOB’s dress so that her lace could be wrapped around the bouquet.
The wedding took place on the pier at the National Harbor.
The bride arrived to the ceremony in a vintage Studebaker.
The couple met in Bali, at sister Vicki’s wedding. Some of the designs including the place card area had a slight nod to Bali. Using the callas, and orchids was a must for this bride.
The tables featured 3 different designs. Bright colored orchids, hydrangea, roses, stock, peony, and viburnum were used to create all of the pieces.
This was a wonderful wedding with wonderful people and I totally love the images from the wonderful and totally amazing Abby Jiu.
