In spite of the heat my gardens are doing fabulous. The severe temperatures and drought are a direct result of my desire to increase the size of our cutting gardens this year. Thank me every time you walk outside and want to suffocate. We have rows of zinnia's, celosia, gladiolas, sunflowers, and chinese lanterns growing like crazy.

We also planted 5 new hydrangeas and several new varieties of coneflowers. The coneflower is a flower that I have never really cared for until this year.  I found myself drawn to this plant because of the new colors that were available and I also really loved the very textured center of the flower.

My garden is also boasting these fabulously popular berries called snowberries. Many magazines feature these lovely pink berries in bridal bouqets. I just happen to have them on my property. One of my dearest friends bought the bushes for me from the state arboretum. Lucky me!

I thought you would enjoy seeing whats up in the garden. More coming up daily…

Love your gardens! I have a smaller garden and because of the cool weather this year we were able to use some of the garden roses in our bouquets. I also grow wisteria, rosemary, lavender, variegated pitt, chocolate mint geranium and hydrangea. My stephanotis plant isn’t doing very well this year.
