This will be the year of the Mason Jar. Many of my brides are hoping to use these for their wedding. I have every antique dealer I know finding them for me. The antique blue ones are highly sought after and will be in big demand this year. If you see any let me know. I will be happy to buy them from you. Just yesterday one of my friends showed up with four of the really big ones. I am thrilled to have these in my inventory.

I am in love with the ones that have the glass lid and wire clip. I have decided that I will tie the lids on to the vases with twine so that you can still see the lid. I will be doing the same thing with some of the old metal lids as well.

The medium sized ones are the appropriate height for a centerpiece but the mouth is so small I am not able to get a nice full centerpiece designed. In an effort to use these very popular vessels, I came up with this really great idea. I tied 3 mason jars together with twine. This allowed me plenty of room and I came up with a design I just love.

Here are some things to know if you are considering this type of flower arrangement.

1. The most common mason jar is the quart. The quart jar is featured above. This size will make a very simple but small elegant centerpiece. If you gather them together like I did, you can have a full throttle centerpiece. The little pint jar is perfect for cocktail tables. The larger jar I mentioned was a 2 quart jar.

2. If you are hoping to use the blue jars, start looking for them now.  If you own the jars, you can keep your centerpieces or they can be given away at the end of the night.  If they belong to the florist they most likely will want them back.

3. I was just told by one of my brides that the clear glass ones are available at Michaels Arts and Crafts store, for $1.00 each. That is a complete and total ste and I would highly suggest checking out your local Michaels now.

Happy Shopping.

This time last year I was trying to round up 30 Aqua jars for a wedding in Savannah and found that they were MUCH cheaper on ebay. People were selling them like crazy – individual jars as well as groupings. Even with S&H they were less money than they were asking at antique stores in Savannah.

Nicely presented information in this post, I prefer to read this kind of stuff. The quality of content is fine and the conclusion is good. Thanks for the post.
