The Leesburg Flower and Garden Show will be held this April 18th and 19th.  This is actually the 19th annual garden show and I have been a vendor since the very first show. In fact it was at the Leesburg Garden Show that I was first asked to begin designing for weddings. I used to go with my parents they were Heider’s Nursery. Today they still own and operate a smaller garden center on Rt. 15 North towards Frederick. Heider’s Farm Market at 703-779-7715.

The garden show is a amazing experience. All of downtown Leesburg is blocked off and all of the vendors wagon in all of their lovely blossoms. The larger booths are for the Landscapers and they create huge displays of patios, waterfalls or reflecting pools.  The product available for purchase is beyond belief and any gardener is sure to be delighted. I of course sell cut flowers and customers can see me design on site.  Each year I wait anxiously for my lilac and pray like crazy that it will peak the weekend of the garden show. My customers have come to expect my precious lilac and it causes major drama when I do not have this lovely smelling blossom.  In fact I have one couple that comes every year from Arlington just to get a handful.  The garden show is a perfect example of a community in full bloom.  I hope to see you there.
