I am happy to announce that designer Joseph Massie will be joining our line up for the Chapel Designers conference in Santa Barbara. I have had the pleasure of designing with Joseph in NYC at the New York Public Library, and also last Christmas at the White House. Joseph is a delightful, jovial, soul with a resume that will make your head spin. Having a designer from Europe teach at our Santa Barbara conference is a really exciting development. At just twenty five, JOSEPH MASSIE is frequently referred to by the media as
‘the floral designer of his generation’, and is one of the UK’s youngest designers
& artists working across several mediums, notably fresh flowers, plants and
botanical materials. Winning over fifteen national floral design competitions
and awards on home soil, including a record five consecutive RHS Chelsea
Flower Show Gold Medals, Joseph has quickly established himself as one of the
UK’s top young floral designers.
On the international stage, Joseph took the Bronze medal at the 40th
WorldSkills World Youth Finals (Calgary, Canada 2009) and the Silver medal at
Eurofleurs European Youth Finals (Manchester, UK, 2010.)
With a clutch of prestigious design awards, Joseph turned his attentions to
artistic and commercial endeavors working internationally, on a wide variety
of creative projects ranging from large scale public installations & events,
educational seminars, workshops and presentations. Joseph’s work has
since been featured in many articles and features including The Times, The
Independent, The Daily Mail and commissioned by international brands
including SKY, Universal Studios, and Value Retail.
In January 2013, after completing a residency in New York City, Joseph founded
Joseph Massie Creative, a unique art, design & lifestyle platform with a focus on
the innovative use of fresh flowers, plants and botanical materials
