Two years ago Cinco De Mayo fell on a Saturday so we had a Cinco De Mayo wedding. I was able to design these flowers for one of my favorite local families. In fact, I have done 3 weddings for this family and I loved each one. Here is our Cinco wedding, the wonderful pictures were provided by a Loudoun County superstar photographer Bob Updegrove.

We used every color in the rainbow to make these very festive bouquets, the Groom and Groomsmen  wore khaki pants and black shirts with different colored ties.

Each maid wore a black dress and then each girl was given a Shaw in a different bright fun color. We then brought all of those colors together in the bouquets. We tied each bouquet with streamers of ribbon.

We designed all of the centerpieces and even the buffet piece in terra cotta pots. I remember I could hardly carry the buffet piece into the tent it was so heavy.

The guests were given sombrero’s and served cold Corona’s.

The family had a Mexican restaurant do the catering and they even hired a Mariachi band.
The children were delighted with a Pinata.

Notice all of the confetti eggs. The family had purchased these for fun and I decided it would be great to put them out on the cake table. I was afraid that no one would remember to get them out at the end of the night. I knew if I put them on the cake table everyone would get the idea.  I heard that the confetti eggs were a highlight of the evening with confetti flying everywhere.

Thanks again to Bob Updegrove for going back two years to find these images.
