It is early Saturday morning. I have a bride coming in at 9am. We have two weddings today.  It’s always busy here. There is always something to do. I know this is my choice, I fill my life, our life, up to the brim. Taking moments to create for creations sake are often the only moments of peace I find. Last night I walked through the garden and I cut anything I wanted. I cut for the sake of cutting. My cooler is full of cabbage roses, and other dazzling expensive blooms but I wanted the flowers from my garden.

These blooms we are growing, make me so happy. I feel so rich because of them. They are special, they are unique, they are wild, they are mine. Only the designs that come from this studio will have these blooms. We grow them just to have them, to enhance our designs, or our workshops. There is no pressure for us with these blooms. We are not growing to sell cut flowers, we are growing to add depth to what we do here. We are growing to make us happy.

Well said! Sometimes a weed is the only inspiration I need to create something for creation’s sake.

That arrangement looks like magic. Love the bronze amaranth and those deep, red zinnias. I can tell you felt inspired- those photos feel alive with wild, zinging energy!
