Even though I am away on vacation, I must admit I am still constantly thinking about flowers and work. I can’t quite get it out of my head, or my heart, not even for one week. I guess this is a good thing for my brides, but probably a very annoying thing for my family.  Knowing that I have a storm of  weddings coming over the next few months makes it hard for me to rest. I can’t shut my head down right now, and quite frankly it would be very dangerous for all involved if I did. So as I look to the fall instead of being afraid, (yes I am often very afraid, and it’s what drives me to kick a _ _) I am focusing on some of the many things I am excited about. One of these things is Lynnvale Studio.  As you know I grow many of the flowers I use, I also have the amazing dahlia man Don as one of my greatest resources, but now I can add Andrea from Lynnvale into my arsenal of kick a _ _ ness.

You may remember a post from a few weeks ago when Andrea stopped by our studio with her amazing goodness, and from her product I created the below design.

Because of  Andrea’s visit to our studio a fun relationship has begun.  Since I was dying to see all of her gorgeous flowers and her farm/studio Evan and I headed to her farm several weeks ago.

When we arrived at the farm I was thrilled to see acres of land. Andrea and her husband Lou have a farm that is several acres large, but that land is surrounded by an additional 100 acres that is protected and owned by Lou’s family. Their property features a beautiful home, several large barns, an art studio for Lou, and then a design studio for Andrea, plus several acres of flowers planted and ready for sale. Lou and Andrea took time out of their busy day to discuss their creative businesses with us and they also discussed how how they work together.  The time Evan and I spent with this couple was a true pleasure.

We enjoyed seeing how the property works and of course seeing all of the flowers. This hoop house is used to start plants but it also houses several rows of dahlias.

Green zinnia’s

Limelight hydraangea

Swan hydrangea

Hydrangea

Lisianthus

Ninebark foliage

Viburnum berry

Dahlias galore.

Beautiful future flower girls, the grown up kind, like me and Andrea.  I suspect at least one of these young ladies will catch the flower addiction and end up working with flowers in her grown-up life.

Andrea’s studio and design space.

This is the private home of the couple featuring an outdoor fireplace on the porch, which looked like an amazing place to hang out!!

I am looking forward to a long and wonderful relationship with this studio and I am really looking forward to designing with Andrea’s amazing flowers.
