On one of my walks through the garden I realized I had the perfect ingredients for a red, white, and blue bouquet. I love this funky mix of flowers and how some of the blooms even look like fireworks. I thought I would share these pictures with you now in case you are already thinking about the 4th of July.

This bouquet was created with lacecap hydrangea, red monarda, blue salvia, lavender, regular blue hydrangea, and white gooseneck loosestrife.

This little design was created by slipping the pants leg of a 6 year old boy over a 4 by 4 square glass vase. Any denim will do of course, but if you have old kids jeans laying around they are a perfect fit. We used red carnations, blue thistle, red hypericum berry, and scabiosa pods painted blue. If you wanted to make this design you could easily pick up some red carnations at the grocery store and paint pods or any berry you find blue. Cut blue thistle can be picked up at a local flower shop or you can actually get this plant at a garden center. The plant is also called Eryngium and its a perennial, which means it comes back every year.  If you bought the plant you could cut the flowers and plant the plant for next year.

This BBQ design was made my placing red carnations upside down in this little basting bowl. The top of the design was filled in with red carnations. A green chilli pepper, a clove of garlic, and a basting brush were added for fun.

Hope you liked our 4th of July, BBQ inspired designs!!!
