We love all styles of floral design and each venue and or bride calls for a certain style of design. This fabulous wedding took place at the Newseum last June. The contemporary space had us changing up our look just a little and we LOVED the way everything turned out for this very unique DC space.

We used bright orange dahlias, roses, spray roses, tulips, freesia, ranunculus, and crocosmia with green cymbidium orchids. This was such an awesome color combination for a June bride.

Bright green mini orchids were used in the brides hair. The groom wore a bout of orange freesia and a mini green cymbidium.

The personal flowers were the only flowers that got a pop of orange, all other designs were monochromatic all green designs. Most of the pieces were arranged in black vessels and paired with navy blue linens and black chiavari chairs. The wedding was managed and styled by Terry from The Posh Planner.

The couple married inside and we used gatherings of their centerpieces to create a ceremony space.

Using the centerpieces as altar pieces saves the couple money and it creates a unique space.

After the ceremony the flowers were moved to the reception tables. Half of the tables featured elevated designs and half of the tables featured groupings of three smaller arrangements. We used cabbage green roses, green tea roses, green spider mums, green cymbidium orchids, green dendrobium orchids, and green hydrangea to create her centerpieces.

I loved the offering of “Old Bay” seasoning at each table. Read the label it’s so cute!!

The Newseum offers amazing views of DC. If you look just beyond the cake you can see the Capital Building. Many thanks to photographer Stephanie Ascari who captured this wedding so beautifully…

and to our bride Robyn who captured herself a wonderful husband.
