In addition to our weddings this weekend we got to fill prom orders for my daughters Abby and Hannah. I also provided bouts and corsages for many of their friends. It was a lot of fun to do something a little different around here, and it was really neat to have the kids stopping by to pick up their pieces. This was a fun little creative deviation from our normal wedding designs. I of course went all out on my daughters designs. I could not have my girls wearing typical grandma corsages, their pieces had to rock. The unique colors of their dresses also called for me to put on my thinking cap.

Abby had a corsage made of peacock feathers, antique blue hydrangea, nandina berry painted teal, and leucadendron berry painted silver. The silver matched the beading on her gown.

Of course boy friend Phil's bout matched perfectly.

I even made each daughter a hair piece. Abby  had a floret of hydrangea with feathers.

I used white ranunculus for Hannah with a beaded trim I bought in San Francisco. She also had the blue hydrangea but her blossoms were a deeper grey blue antique tone.

I used  white ranunculus with a piece of hydrangea for her dates bout. I used corsage glue to attach a little diamond onto the hydrangea. The same nandina berry  was used in this bout, but I did not tint it blue.

Hannah's hair piece was just hydrangea and one little diamond.

Hannah went to prom with  Andrew, and believe it or not he is Phil's twin brother.

Prom was a huge hit. The girls had a wonderful night and they looked so beautiful! It was really truly fun making their pieces for prom.

These lovely bouquets were delivered to Lansdowne Resort. Our bride Erika married at Lansdowne on the terrace with a reception at the clubhouse. Her bridal bouquet was created of light pink and white peonies, with white mini callas. The rest of the flowers of the day were hot, hot, pink.

Erika looked absolutely stunning and I loved the pink flowers on the pink dresses. It was totally hot.

We did petals down the aisle and one really enormous altar piece. We also tied clusters of hot pink carnations on to the family reserved seating.

Centerpieces were a combination of high and low designs.

The low centerpiece was a 12 inch round bowl. There were  10 stems of the hot pink orchids tucked into the base of the bowl. We also submerged lights into the orchids and we used floating candles on top.

The head table had clusters of small designs down the table and lots of votives. This wedding was beautiful. Happy married life Erika, thank you for letting us do your flowers.

This lovely bouquet was created for our bride Brittney, her wedding was in Middleburg at the Briar Patch Bed and Breakfast. Since my good friend Genevieve Leiper was the photographer at this event, I left the photography up to her.  This wedding was planned and designed by Lisa Schulz The Posh Planner. I can't wait to see the photographs from this wedding. The bridal was created of cream hydrangea, yellow roses, freesia and mini callas, we also used yellow peonies, yellow football mums and billy balls.

This bouquet headed out to Whitehall on Sunday. We provided flowers for Amanda's wedding and we loved the combination of pink, peach, and cream. Her flowers were so lovely.

Her bouquet was created of peach roses, cream peony, pink astilbe, pink hydrangea from my garden, lambs ear from my garden and nandina also from my place. We also used illsa spray roses and pink and white ranunculus.

Looks like I better start packing lunches for the kids. I will post the rest of the photographs from this weekend tomorrow. Needless to say it was a wonderful and very full weekend here.

The corsages and bouts are really fun and show what can be done instead of the granny flowers! Lucky girls!
I did a wedding last weekend for my niece Amanda in very much the same colors and flowers as your Amanda wedding! Hyds from my garden, cream peony, astilbe, Ilse and Surprise spray roses, and peach ranunculus! What a funny coincidence!
