I have been looking forward to Tracy's wedding for a whole year. Mrs. K, Tracy's mom found me last year and booked me on the spot. The many reviews we have on-line and our strong web presence helped her decide I was worth a trip to Leesburg. Thank you MOB for having faith in me and my team, and for allowing us to do the flowers for your very special day.

Tracy married at the Decatur House in Washington DC. The Decatur House is an extraordinary wedding venue and it's right down the street from the White House. I absolutely loved the Decatur House and their staff.

I have to admit I was very worried about this flower delivery. It just happened to be the weekend of Rolling Thunder. Thunder, tends to make wedding vendors very nervous. This motorcyle ride in honor of our nations Veterans, nearly paralyzes DC with traffic. There are over 400,000 bikers, add that to Memorial Day festivities and you have traffic beyond all imagination.  There is nothing more frightening than sitting in traffic with flowers that could potentially wilt. Temperatures reached 92 degrees on Sunday.  Thanks to my husband Evan's incredible planning, all 3 flower delivery vehicles made it into the city without any coincidence or any real traffic. Thank you Clara Barton Parkway! Lets just say being prepared, leaving an hour early and bringing my husband Evan made this trip into DC miraculous. We actually arrived a half an hour early. The flowers were brought into the cool halls of the Decatur house, where they rested, while we got started on our big set up.

Tracy carried a bouquet of purple blue hydrangea, cream roses, white peonies, white mini callas with a purple center and white cymbidium orchids. The bouquet was breath taking.

Maids carried bouquets of lavender roses, blue delphinium, purple stock, blue thistle, and purple lizzy. The bouquets looked so lovely with the maids dresses.

Here is our amazing Chuppah. My fabulous husband Evan designed this structure for the wedding. I am afraid my picture simply does not do this ceremony site any justice. Each pole was wrapped in willow, we used 25 bunches of tall willow, and 6 bunches of short willow tips to enhance the birch poles. Over 100 stems of orchids were used throughout the design. I have always wanted to create something this spectacular, and with Evan's hard work this vision easily came to life.

Our place card piece was created with all white flowers. We used white hydrangea, peony, roses, stock and phlox.

We always bring extra blossoms with us just in case there is an area that needs a little extra love. We quickly made up these simple little arrangements to enhance the cocktail tables. I was working with the amazing caterer Susan Gage on this event.  I have heard fabulous things about Susan for years, but this was my first time working with her. Susan had her staff bring over the vases and with team work we came up with these sweet little designs.

Our centerpieces alternated between high and low. The high designs featured manzanita branches. Each branch had cymbidium orchids and white dendrobium orchids. The base of the centerpieces included, purple hydrangea, cream hydrangea, lavender roses, white roses, purple stock, lizzy, orchids and thistle.

The cake was decorated with sahara roses, and spray roses.  All in all this wedding was simply perfect, many thanks should go to event planner Maria Cooke of Ritzy Bee Event. Maria and the wonderful Kelly of Ritzy Bee helped to keep the day running smoothly and as always it was a pleasure to work with my friend Maria and her fabulous side kick Kelly. A huge thanks should also go to my husband Evan for getting me safe to the city, for creating the chuppah, and for racing home after the Chuppah was constructed to take over with the kids. Leaving 6 kids of varying ages home alone is more than crazy. I better also mention my fabulous staff, who has been knocking it out of the ball park all wedding season. This wedding took 7 people to set up, 3 of which were men.  These designs were super heavy and building structures just seems to require men.

Happy married life Tracy and thank you Mrs. K for choosing us to do the flowers for your daughters wedding. I am so happy we got to be your florist.
