On Saturday May 22nd, my bride Alison married at the Meridian House.  I have been looking forward to her wedding for a complete year. Alison was one of several girls last year that paid deposit and booked me as their florist without even meeting me in person.  She loved the blog and she told me that anyone can have a great website but the blog showed the heart of our business and our day to day successes. She also mentioned that the Washingtonian's Best of  Wedding List which is part of the Bride and Groom Magazine was another huge resource for her. Thank you Bride and Groom for sending me a bride as lovely as Alison, and thank you Alison for making all of these many hours of blogging worth the effort.

Alison carried a bouquet of "blush" key word was "blush" peonies with lily of the valley and white ranunculus.

Maids carried bouquets of hot pink peonies, medium pink peonies, green hypericum berry and hot pink ranunculus.

What a stunner!

We had the pleasure of working with Maria Cooke from Ritzy Bee Events and Seana Hale from Design Cuisine.  It is always a pleasure to work with these industry greats.

The aisle was lined with petals, peony, and hanging vases that were used after the ceremony for the cocktail hour.

Our place card design was created of all Phalaenopsis orchids.

Elevated centerpieces were a a cascading mass of white dendrobium orchids.  Obtaining these orchids was one of the most nerve racking experiences of my career. I never have trouble getting these lovely white orchids, it is simply not a flower that ever causes me any concern. It just so happens, that there is a coup in Thailand and many of the flowers are not getting out of the country. Nice added stress, when you are trying to make everything perfect for a bride, and just in case you are reading this Mrs. K, I have your orchids for this weekend.

Low centerpieces were created of white peonies, white ranunculus, white stock, white phlox, and green hydrangea.

We lined all of the mantels with lovely centerpieces and candlelight.

The wedding cake was lovely, but what really caught my eye was the grooms cake.

This wedding was awesome and I loved being a part of the day. Happy married life Alison, thank you for allowing me to do your flowers.

Your flowers were fabulous, Holly! We loved working with you on this wedding. I wanted to steal the centerpieces.

Holly – I LOVED carrying those incredible maids’ bouquets!!! However, holding both mine and Alison’s flowers during the ceremony was heavy work – I can’t believe how many blooms made up Alison’s bouquet and ours. They were simply stunning.
Thank you for making sure Alison got her orchids – the whole place completely came alive with your work – you’re wonderful!!!
