We lost an incredible friend this week. Dr. Peter Chopivsky was our family doctor and our friend, he passed away after a heroic battle against pancreatic cancer. We have all been so sad that we have been hanging on by a thread. Blogging and conducting business seemed very ridiculous when one is forced to realize just how fragile and precious life is.  I am often asked how I handle such a large family and my business. Quite frankly one of the reasons that I have been able to operate so well,  is because we had an incredible doctor.  Whenever I needed help with one of the children I was able to get care for them instantly. We have never had to let a sickness develop or worsen before we were seen. Doctor Chopivsky has been taking care of us for almost 20 years. He delivered most of our children and has cared for all of them since their birth. I can't believe how lost our whole family feels and quite frankly we have a little depression buzzing through the house. I loved this man, we loved this man, and he will be missed every day. I lived my life with a certain comfort that we would always be taken care of. Having this remarkable man gone from our lives makes us all  feel vunerable and fearful. Dr. Peter always made time for me and the children he knew that I always had weddings coming up and he would do anything to make sure we were all healthy and ready for the weekend. I know he was unique and the quality of service we have enjoyed over the last 20 years is not the norm. I do not want a normal doctor. I dont want to be a number, I want someone to truly care. He ran his business like I run mine with total heart  and soul. The Chapple Family will be lost without  Dr. Peter. We will pray for his family and for dear Sally who ran his office for 20 years. We will pray that they can find peace in his absence. My dear friend Dr. Chopivsky  you will be missed beyond belief.

The Chapple Clan.

A memorial service is being planned for this Sunday at  J.R. Festival Lakes from 2-4pm.

    Holly,
Thank you for your note. Dr. Peter took care of our family (of 5) for the last 10 years. Your letter brought tears to my eyes as I feel the same way you do. I can’t imagine how we are supposed to find anyone like him. We were spoiled. We also never had to wait. He took us right away and was always there to hold our hand and carry us through. Dr. Peter being gone feels like a dream. It doesn’t seem real. I so wish it wasn’t. I went for a run this morning and stared at the beautiful green leaves on the trees. Life is so precious. ….One more thought, has anyone thought of creating a memorial for him downtown?..maybe by his office?…maybe even a bench with a plaque on it?

    Holly,
We also had Dr. Peter as our family doctor for the past 14 years, and we share your thoughts and admiration for this wonderful man. We feel the loss, and still can’t believe we won’t be able to be under his care. He took care of our three kids since they were each born, and they also share the loss. We rejoice in having known him and receiving his special touch.
